Think Lab Shibuya

EN / JP

A workspace located on Shibuya Koen-dori proposed by Think Lab, a group that researches and builds solo workspaces for deep concentration and productivity. To ensure that "the space leading up to the user's desk triggers a sense of focus," visitors are first greeted by an expansive rock garden and invited to take the stone paths toward their desks. The layout is such that users can enjoy the garden while maintaining privacy from other users.
The materials are chosen to adjust the light and color of the atmosphere, both within and outside of the individual work stations. The grey gravel of the rock garden and the adjacent sand walls showcase the changing light throughout the day, and the wood of the pathways maintains an organic tactility throughout. The inside of the work booths is entirely black to ensure no distractions for the user.
