Think Lab Kasumigaseki

EN / JP

A workspace located within a government facility proposed by Think Lab, a group that researches and builds solo workspaces for deep concentration and productivity. To ensure that "the space leading up to the user's desk triggers a sense of focus," visitors are first greeted by greenery, indicating with sight, smell, and sound that this is a special space. Drawing from ideas of "deep thought" and "physical immersion," the colors of the materials from floor to desk evoke soil, giving the user a sense of being submerged in the ground. For the space above the desks, we aimed to strike a balance between tense and relaxed by making the walls, ceilings, and partitions black but using greenery as the front borders between work stations. The plants provide relief within the space and ensure privacy between neighbors.
